December 25, 2006 - Criminal mischief to cemetery headstones located at the intersection of 428 and 770 Roads is the topic of this crime of the week. Sometime before 11-20, person(s) unknown pushed over three headstones at the Rosehill Cemetery. Graffiti was then painted on them causing approximately $300 in damages. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible will receive a cash reward.

December 18, 2006 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Dawson County Dept. of Roads with regards to a damaged light. Sometime between 12-08-06 and 12-09-06, person(s) unknown damaged the flashing yellow caution light located .5 mile north of Rd 756 on Rd 444. The signal warned drivers of a dangerous curve located north of Overton. Information that leads to an arrest will receive a cash reward.

December 11, 2006 - On 11-27-06, the Dawson County Sheriff's Office was called to the Nebraska By-Products facility located in rural Lexington to investigate a theft complaint. The company reported that approximately $7,000 in copper and a blue floor vice valued at $700 had also been taken. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible in this felony case will receive a cash reward.

December 4, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is currently investigating a criminal trespass complaint that involved property damage to a garage and driveway in the 600 block of West 17th St. Sometime around 8:30pm on 12-01-06, person(s) unknown forced entry into the garage and damaged the sheet rock. The driveway also received graffiti. Information that leads to an arrest will receive a cash reward.

November 27, 2006 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers has fielded several calls with reference to drug information that is currently being investigated by several Dawson County law enforcement agencies. November 13, 2006 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the damage to a hay truck while parked in rural Dawson County. Sometime during the night hours of 11-01-06, person(s) unknown broke out the windshield, mirrors, and windows of a parked hay truck causing in excess of $500 damage to the vehicle. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible will receive a cash reward.

November 6, 2006 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers encourages people to call the crime stoppers hotline with any information you may have about any crime. October 23, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary to a shed near the East Elementary School. Sometime between 4:00 and 7:00 pm on 09-08-06, person(s) unknown attempted gain entry into a shed located on the school grounds and damaged the door hinges in the process. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible, will receive a cash reward.

October 16, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a criminal mischief to a car that was parked in the 1400 block of "N" Street. Sometime within the last week of September and the first week of October, person(s) keyed the driver's side of a Ford Escort. This is the second occurrence with this particular vehicle. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible will receive a cash reward.

News Release: The Dawson County Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for the arrest of wanted fugitives. Crime Stoppers received a tip on wanted fugitive Cesar Medina. Medina was wanted for several warrants including drug charges. Thanks to this caller, he is off of the streets and in police custody. The caller also received a large cash reward for their time in calling the crime stoppers hotline, as their call lead to an arrest.

October 9, 2006 - Dawson County law enforcement is currently investigating two bomb threats. One of the threats at the Monroe facility is believed to have originated from a pay phone at Max's Short Stop. The other threat, at Tyson's was fielded on 09-27-06 at 2:35pm. Any information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible for either of these crimes will receive a substantial cash reward.

September 25, 2006 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a burglary to the Central Feeders located in rural Overton. Sometime after 5:00 pm on 09-21-06, person(s) unknown entered into the business and removed a scale, red air compressor, and a refrigerator. Information that leads to an arrest in this felony case will receive a cash reward.

September 13, 2006 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for callers that provide information on the whereabouts of wanted fugitives. A cash reward was paid out for the arrest of Juilan Hernandez, who was residing in Lincoln County. Hernandez was wanted on an active Dawson County warrant and was taken into custody. September 4, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating criminal mischief and attempted theft from a vehicle. Sometime during the evening hours of 08-25-06, person(s) attempted to remove vehicle accessories from a vehicle parked at Ted's Truck and Auto. Suspects have been developed, however your information is needed to close this case. Information that leads to an arrest will receive a cash reward.

August 28, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is currently investigating theft from a Schwan's Fine Foods truck. Sometime between Friday, August 11th and the morning of August 12th, person(s) unknown entered into the truck and removed an undisclosed amount of food. The value of the theft makes this case a felony offense. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible will be eligible for a cash reward.

August 14, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is currently investigating several entries in the downtown district. Sometime in the evening hours of 08-07-06 or the early morning hours of 08-08-06, person(s) unknown entered into one business and attempted to enter into another. The suspect(s) utilized neighboring garages to enter into the businesses. Information that leads to an arrest will get a cash reward.

July 31, 2006 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers wants to end drug use in our communities. Information is taken and arrests are made for drug users and manufacturers from people like you. The Dawson County Crime Stoppers will pay a substantial cash reward to any person that provides a location of any methamphetamine lab or other large drug cache.

July 10, 2006 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in crimes that have occurred in our communities. Sometime during the night hours of June 28th, person(s) unknown gained entry by throwing a projectile through the window. June 19, 2006 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the theft of several fishing poles and lures that occurred in the Lakeview Acres area. Sometime during the night hours of 06-03-06, person(s) unknown removed the fishing equipment from a bed and breakfast. The total estimated loss is in excess of $2,600, making this theft a felony offense. Information leading to arrest will get you a cash reward.

June 12, 2006 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers is a program that pays citizens for information that leads to the arrest of wanted fugitives, criminals, and drug dealers. May 22, 2006 - The Lexington Police Department is currently investigating a burglary to the U Store It storage facility.  Sometime after 02-23-06 and 04-07-06, person(s) unknown removed the lock off of the storage door and removed several items including several antiques, a lawn mower, and other personal affects. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible will receive a cash reward.

May 15, 2006 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a theft from the Bridge Street Auto located in Lexington. Sometime between 05-13-06 at 5:00 pm and 05-15-06 at 8:00 am person(s) unknown entered into a vehicle and removed an after market CD player. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible for this theft or any other crime will receive a cash reward.

May 8, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is currently investigating a criminal mischief that occurred to the Doctor Dave's Used Car office. Sometime after 5:00 p.m. on 05-04-06 and before 8:00 a.m. on 05-05-06, person(s) unknown damaged the front window of the business. If you have any information that leads to an arrest in this case, you will receive a cash reward.

April 24, 2006 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for wanted fugitives. If you know of any information about a crime that has occurred, but want to remain anonymous, contact the Dawson County Crime Stoppers for a cash reward. April 17, 2006 - The search for a male fugitive by the name of Garcia Guzman DOB 05-06-73 is the topic of this week's crime of the week. Guzman is 6 feet tall and 215 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. On 04-13-06, the above subject was involved in a pursuit with the Nebraska State Patrol and has several warrants for his arrest. Information that leads to the arrest of this subject will receive a cash reward.

April 10, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is currently investigating a burglary that occurred to Mike's Electric located at 407 East Railroad Street. Sometime during the night hours of 04-04-06 burglar(s) unknown entered into the business and removed $1,500 worth of MCM copper and other electrical wiring. Information leading to the arrest of whoever is responsible will receive a cash reward.

March 26, 2006 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers program issues cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of anyone responsible for a crime. March 6, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft from Agriliance. Sometime during the night hours of 2-22-06 and 2-23-06 person(s) unknown entered into the building and removed several power tools valued around $1000. February 27, 2006 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft from a rural residence. Sometime between 02-18-06 and 02-19-06, person(s) unknown entered into a residence located in the 2600 block of Hockley Road and removed two handguns. One was a 357 Stainless steel model 686 and the other was a 380 Autoload that was 50+ years old. Your call could get you a cash reward.

January 23, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating criminal activity that occurred at the U-Store It storage facility located at 410 Johansen Dr. Sometime during the night hours of 01-21-06; person(s) unknown forcibly removed several locks from the storage units. This activity has been ongoing in this area. Information leading to the arrest of whoever is responsible will receive a cash reward.

January 16, 2006 - The Cozad Police Department is currently investigating a criminal mischief that occurred at an apartment complex located at 1210 East 8th Street. Sometime during the night hours between 01-14-06 and 01-15-06, person(s) unknown shot the back window out of an older model Chevrolet pickup. Information leading to an arrest in the case of whoever is responsible will receive a cash reward.

January 1, 2006 - The Lexington Police Department is currently investigating a burglary of T.L. Sund that occurred sometime during the evening hours of 12-23-05 & the morning hours of 12-24-05.
