December 27, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary which occurred during the night hours on August 31st at Big Al's Sports & Spirits. Someone broke the window out and attempted to enter business.
December 13, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary to a residence in Lexington that occurred during the day on December 2nd. Subject(s) entered the residence taking a Sony CD Player, antique dishes and assorted Jewelry. Total loss is estimated up to $6,000.
December 6, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a vandalism which occurred in the early morning hours of November 26th. Someone shot an unoccupied dwelling along Tri-County, three times with a .22-250 hi-power rifle. Damage was done to the outer and inner walls.

November 29, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism. A blue '87 Chevy pickup, parked overnight at the High School on November 10th was vandalized. The vehicle was scratched, a headlight and tail light broken out, and both side mirrors were damaged. Est. damage $1,100.
November 22, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft. Taken were 3 rings from a jewelry box located in the restroom of a residence at 402 E. 4th Street in Cozad. Value of items taken $2,600.
November 15, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a theft. During the morning hours, someone broke into the change maching at the carwash. A small amouth of cash was taken and extensive damage was done to the machine.
November 8, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary in Sumner, Nebraska. On August 3rd, unknown parties broke into Sumner Market by using a pry bar on front door. Cigarettes and possibly other items were taken. Subjects left the area using the alley.
November 1, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that occurred between October 24th and 31st. Unknown subjects stole an aluminum 14 ft v-haul boat and 4 dozen duck decoys. Items were taken from the Platte River between Cozad and Willow Island. Estimated value $850.

October 25, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the vandalism to the bill changer at the Cozad Car Wash. Incident occurred on August 28th. Subject(s ) attempted to pry the bill changer open with a large screw driver or a small pry bar causing over $500 in damage.
October 4, 1999 - On August 14th the Lexington Police Department received a report of a 1994 Green Ford Pickup stolen from 800 block of South Harrison Street. The stolen vehicle was used in the 200 block of West Maple to hit a 1992 Red Nissan Sentra pushing it into a 1981 Blue Ford pickup causing damage to all three vehicles.

September 27, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating vandalism at Deerfield Apartments. Someone placed a military style smoke bomb in the hallway of an apartment building. The smoke caused damage to the walls and ceiling.
September 20, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a burglary at the airport. On the night hours of September 2nd, someone pried open a door, entered the building and kicked in an inner office door. Extensive damage was caused to the inner door. Cash was taken.
September 13, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a burglary at Jack & Jill Food Pride in Cozad. Entry was gained in rear door and a safe was broken into, cigarettes, phone cards and cash was taken. An estimated $1,840 in theft loss and damage.
September 6, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's office is investigating two burglaries that occured in Sumner in the early morning hours of August 20, 1999. One involved Tub's Pub where an undertermined amount of money was taken. The other involved a resident's storage shed where vehicle parts were taken.

August 30, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the theft of 25 CD's in a black nylon case taken from a van parked near the corner of 8th and F Street. Incident occured between the hours of 8pm and 10pm on 8-20-99. Estimated value of items taken is $375.
August 23, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the vandalism to the new Wellness Center. Incident occurred between August 6th and August 9th. Subject(s) poured a substance used for roofing on the south wall, staining the bricks. This caused approximately $2,000 in damage.
August 9, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary at the Sumner Market. Someone broke into the business on August 3rd by using a pro bar on the front door. Taken were two cartons of cigarettes and possible other items. Phone lines were disabled from the back of the building.
August 2, 1999 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating the theft of a 1987 Mazda Pickup that occurred between June 23rd and June 24th in Lexington. Subjects involved did extensive damage to the vehicle. Vehicle was observed in the Overton area June 24th.

July 20, 1999 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating the burglary to the Longhorn Laundry that occurred in the early hours of November 30, 1998. Suspect(s ) gained entry by sawing through flat steel bars covering the vents. Approximately $1,800 was taken.
July 5, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating the criminal mischief at the Gothenburg High School. On May 5th graffiti was found in a boys restroom. The graffiti was threatening other students.
Also: The Cozad Police Department is investigating the vandalism to two vehicles that occurred sometime between June 21st and June 22nd on East 11th St. Both vehicles were scratched with an object causing extensive damage.
Also: The Dawson County Crime Stoppers is seeking information on drug or gang related activity in your area. If you know of someone that is dealing or using drugs or that is involved in illegal gang activity, we don't need your name, just your information.

June 21, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the burglary of the concession stand at Bellamy Park which occurred the first weekend in June. Damage estimated at $50 was done by someone kicking in the door.
June 14, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary of the Lucerne Valley School. On December 21, 1998, someone entered the school and knocked over cabinets and pianos. Fire extinguishers were sprayed over the entire school and "107" was spray painted on several desks.

May 31, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the burglary of the Cozad High School that occured sometime between May 25th and May 26th. Subject (s) took over $680 in cash.
May 24, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the vandalism of construction equipment at the new Rec. Center site in Lexington between May 10th & May 19th. Damaged is believed to have been done with a high powered BB gun or pellet gun. Damage totals approximately $1500.
May 17, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a burglary which occurred at Ampride in Gothenburg between 12 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on May 4th. Entry was gained from a broken window. A safe containing money and several cartons of cigarettes were taken in the theft.
May 10, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the burglary of the Lexington Conoco located at the I-80 interchange that occured April 5th. Subject(s) broke a window to gain entrance. No items were taken from the store.
May 3, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the vandalism to the exterior of a residence. Subject(s) drove a vehicle into the backyard and pushed the air conditioner into the residence causing over $1,195 in damage. Incident occurred between April 18th and April 24th.

April 26, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the vandalism to the exterior of a 1997 Monte Carlo that is located in Gothenburg. Vehicle has been vandalized 6 different times between April 15th and April 18th. Damage appears to be from a key or other abrasive object.
April 19, 1999- The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary of the Camp Comeca Shop between April 1st and present date. Subject(s) took a Dewalt Cordless Saw and Drill, a white gas post hole digger and a Sears Versa Pack. Subjects may have entered the shop more than once.
April 12, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a burglary at the Cozad High School that occured between April 3rd and April 5th. Subject or subjects stole money and damaged property. Subject may have received a cut during the incident.
Also: The Dawson County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 CASH REWARD to anyone having information to help solve the vadalism which occurred at Cozad Country Club cart shed on April 29, 1998. Several golf carts were wrecked and the satelite system vandalized. Damage in excess of $25,000.
Also: The Dawson County Crime Stoppers is investigating the theft of various tools at 2 different locations in rural Dawson County between March 20th and April 4th. Entrance was gained through open doors on 2 quanset buildings.
April 5, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating vandalism to numerous vehicle windows between January 12th and January 15th. It appears either a BB gun or pellet gun was used to do this crime.

March 29, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department and Dawson County Sheriff's Office are investigating thefts of numerous 420 road signs. Be on the look out and report any suspicious activity in this area.
March 22, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a rash of vandalism. During the last two weeks, the Police Department has received 15 cases of vehicle windows being shot out with air guns. The vehicles have been parked throughout the city.
March 15, 1999 - The Dawson County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 CASH REWARD to anyone having information to help solve the vadalism which occurred at Cozad Country Club cart shed on April 29, 1998. Several golf carts were wrecked and the satelite system vandalized. Damage in excess of $25,000.
March 8, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating vandalism that occurred between February 26th and 27th. Several mail boxes were damaged with pop bottle bombs near 100 R School and north Highway #47 in rural Gothenburg.
March 1, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary of Mr. J's Liquor Store. In the early morning hours of February 22nd, someone used a blunt object to break the safety glass in the front door. Damages are estimated at $300.00.

February 22, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary of the Lucerne Valley School. On December 21, 1998, someone entered the school and knocked over cabinets and pianos. Fire extinguishers were sprayed over the entire school and "107" was spray painted on several desks.
February 15, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a vandalism that occurred late the night of 02-04-99 on West 13th Street and Airport Road. Suspects broke out all the heavy glass windows to three pieces of land leveling equipment. Estimated damage is $1362. A white stadium pole used for surveying land was stolen.
February 8, 1999 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a burglary which occurred sometime between January 28 and January 29. Someone had entered a trailer and taken was a 110 volt 10" Makita miter saw valued at $349.
February 1, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the vandalism to a fence at a residence in the 500 block of East 9th Street. During the evening hours on December 31st, someone had broken 13 boards out of the fence causing an estimated $500 in damage.

January 25, 1999 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the vandalism to a parked vehicle that occurred between January 16th and 17th. Someone used a blow torch to write words on the driver's side of the car. Damage is estimated at $500.
January 18, 1999 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred on November 30th at the Longhorn Laundry. Between the hours of midnight and 7:30 a.m., someone entered the building through the roof and a large amount of cash and change was taken.
January 11, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Department is investigating a burglary that occurred on April 28th at the Cozad Country Club. Between the hours of 11 p.m. & 1 a.m., someone damaged several golf carts, a satelite system, and broke a window to a storage shed. Damage is estimated at over $25,000.00.
January 5, 1999 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Department is conducting a homicide investigation into the death of Charles "Chuck" Workman, whose body was located December 6, 1998 southeast of Lexington, Nebraska. Workman died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds on or about December 23 or 24, 1997.

December 22, 1998 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary and  criminal mischief at District 27 School. Unknown subjects broke into the school northwest of Cozad and vandalized the interior of the school. They spray painted several objects and broke several outside windows.
December 14, 1998 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism at the Cozad Middle School. On the night of Dec. 11th, someone spray painted graffiti on one of the school's vehicles. Damages are estimated at over $200.00.
December 4, 1998 - The Dawson County Sheriff's office is investigating a burglary at the Overton Public School.  On the night of December 1st, someone entered the school, broke a glass door and took bank bags containing cash. Loss & damages are estimated at over $600.00.

November 30, 1998 - The Lexington Police are investigating vandalism to two vehicles that were parked at the bowling alley on the 19th of November. With rocks, windows were broken out of both vehicles and one vehicle had damage to the door. Taken was a cell phone and a brief case from one of the vehicles.
November 23, 1998 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating the burglaries of 3 businesses. On the night of November 6th, someone broke into Gothenburg Animal Hospital, Eastside Animal Center, and the Lakeside Bowling Alley. Loss and damages are estimated at over $1,100.
November 16, 1998 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a hit and run accident that occured on Nov. 7th. A dark colored older model late 70s early 80s pickup with white lettering across the tailgait hit a parked vehicle head on and left the area. Damages are estimated at over $500.00.
November 9, 1998 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating the burglary of the Animal Clinic. On the night of August 1st someone possibly used a broken pitchfork handle to break out a window and cash was taken. Loss and damages are estimated at $350.00.
November 2, 1998 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the vandalism of a Police Department patrol vehicle. On the night of September 24th someone broke out the windshield, back window, and a rear door window. The spotlight and window trim was also damaged. Damage is estimated at $1000.
