December 20, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a burglary to a shed located in the 600 block of East 7th Street. On 12/14/04, officers were called to that location to investigate damage that was sustained to a shed located behind the residence. Once inside, burglar(s) removed a RCA brand home stereo system valued at $250. Information leading to an arrest will jam your wallet with cash.

December 13, 2004 - Dawson County Law enforcement seeks your help in locating fugitives in the Dawson County area. Fugitive listings and warrant arrests can be located on the Internet at
dawsoncountyne.net/sheriff. Once on that site, fugitives and subjects that have a warrant for arrest can be located. The Dawson County Crime Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to arrest of any of those subjects.

December 6, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred to a camper. On 10-07-04, the reporting party discovered that damage was done to his fifth wheel camper while parked in the Pizza Hut truck parking lot. Damage was done to the door, window, and screen causing $1,000 in damage. Your information leading to arrest could help pack up this case for a cash reward.

November 29, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a vandalism that occurred to an abandoned home located in rural Dawson County. Sometime between 10-03-04 & 10-04-04, unknown vandal(s) shot out several windows of this building southwest of Cozad. Any information leading to arrest in this case could get you a Christmas cash reward.

November 22, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the theft of a motor vehicle that occurred on 09-22-04. Sometime between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, thief or thieves took a red 1998 Chevrolet pickup from the Pump and Pantry parking lot located on east Highway 30. The stolen pickup was recovered in a field northeast of Cozad on 09-27-04. Information leading to arrest in this case will lead to a cash reward.

November 15, 2004 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a theft of a blue 2003 Yamaha Blaster four wheeler from a local restaurant. Thief or thieves took the ATV sometime after 10:45 pm on 10-26-04 from Walker's Family Steakhouse. The four wheeler is valued at $3,100.00, making this a felony theft. Information that clears a path to an arrest could get you a Christmas cash reward.

November 7, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a burglary to the Overton Golf Course that occurred during the evening hours of 10-21-04 . Burglar(s) unknown forcibly entered into the northwest and south shed, once inside they stole numerous high quality golf clubs and bags. The Overton Golf Course is willing to pay a total of $1,500 cash reward to you for information leading to an arrest in this felony case.

November 1, 2004 -The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary to the Overton Golf Course that occurred during the evening hours of 10-21-04. Burglar(s) unknown forcibly entered into the northwest and south shed, once inside they stole numerous golf clubs and bags. The Overton Golf Course is willing to swing a $1,000 cash reward to you for information leading to an arrest in this club caper.

October 25, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the damage of a motor vehicle that occurred in the evening of 10-02-04 while the vehicle was parked near Chipper Hall. Sometime after 11:00 PM, vandal(s) unknown threw a full bottle of beer through the rear passenger window of the vehicle causing $300.00 of damage. The suspect vehicle was described as a green in color Honda that was seen in the area.

October 18, 2004 - The Gothenburg Police Department continues to investigate a theft that occurred on the evening of July 30th, where a John Deere 3020 tractor was stolen from Farmland Service Co-op Fertilizer Plant. No information was given on this theft, however the value of the tractor makes this crime a felony. You could drive home a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest in this case.

October 11, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a vandalism that occurred to a home located in rural Dawson County. Sometime between 10-03-04 & 10-04-04, unknown vandal(s) shot out several windows of an unoccupied home southwest of Cozad. With the right information, you could help crack this case and land a cash reward.

October 6, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred in Veteran's Memorial Park on the night of September 26th. Person(s) unknown broke out a window and kicked a door until they bent the dead bolt. They also set a fire in the Women's restroom. Estimated damages are approximately $500 .00 dollars. There have been several other related incidents in the Cozad Parks.

September 27, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred to a local business.  Sometime during the early morning hours of 09-19-04, person(s) spray painted the business located at 110 West 9th Street. Those person(s) used black spray paint to paint the length of the building. The paint caused an estimated $500 of damage to the building.

September 20, 2004 - Dawson County Law Enforcement agencies are investigating several reports of drug related activity. Methamphetamine labs and Marijuana growing operations can be conducted in the security of most homes and sheds. Strong odors may be detected from those areas as well as a lot of stop and go traffic. If you suspect drug activity in your neighborhood, your information could lead you to a cash reward.

September 13, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred to the "old middle school" located in the 300 block of east 8th Street. Sometime on or before 09-07-04, unknown person(s) used a rock to cause damage to windows of the building. Inside the building were several new pieces of furniture that were damaged. The estimated total damage exceeds $500.00.

September 6, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating two vandalism cases that occurred to motor vehicles. Sometime between 9:30pm on 08-29-04 and 5:30am on 08-30-04, unknown person(s) used rocks to cause damage to the back windows of two motor vehicles. The estimated total damage in both cases exceeds $3 ,000.00, making this crime a felony. A cash reward may be yours if you help crack this case.

August 30, 2004 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred in the early morning hours on 08/27/04. Currently, a search is being conducted for a blue, late 80's to early 90's mid-sized car with tinted windows and a luggage rack located on the trunk that may have been involved in the incident. Any persons with information about this will be eligible for a cash reward.

August 23, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft, which occurred in the nighttime hours of August 21st. Person(s) unknown took an Ariens brand self -propelled rear bagger lawn mower from a backyard in the 600 block of East 5th Street. Estimated value of loss is $450.00 dollars.

August 16, 2004 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a theft during the evening hours of July 30. During the nighttime hours person or persons unknown stole a green/yellow John Deere 3020 Tractor from the Farmland Service Co-op Fertilizer Plant. Tracks indicate the tractor was driven westbound on highway 30. Tractor valued at $10,000.

August 2, 2004 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a criminal mischief that occurred sometime between 07-29-04 at 5:00pm and 07-31-04 at 12:00pm. Person(s) unknown shot the window out of the Mid Nebraska Printing business, by possibly using a BB type gun. The damage to the window was approximately
$1,000 in damages.

July 26, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that occurred on 06-26-04 at approximately 12:00am. The person(s) unknown gained entry by breaking the rear passenger side window of the vehicle while parked in the 1100 block of North Fillmore Street, Lexington. Once inside the person(s) took two 10" Pioneer speakers. The value of the theft and damage to the window is nearly $400.

July 19, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that occurred on 06-26-04 at approximately 12:00 a.m. The person(s) unknown gained entry by breaking the passenger side window of the vehicle while parked at the Tyson Foods parking lot. Once inside the person(s) took two 12" Sony speakers, two 10" speakers, and a 700-watt amplifier. The value of the theft and damage to the window is nearly $1,000.

July 12, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Criminal Mischief that occurred in rural Dawson County on Road 439. Sometime between 5:00pm on 07 -03-04 and 9:30am on 07-04-04, person(s) unknown broke out twenty-two windows, damaged two doors, and spilled paint on one room of carpet. The estimated damage sustained to the residence was approximately $4,700.00 .

July 5, 2004 - Dawson County law enforcement is actively pursuing drug users and dealers in Dawson County. If you have any information on this topic, or know of drug activity in your neighborhood, you may be eligible for a cash reward. Indicators of drug activity may include stop and go traffic at all times of the day and night or indifferent odors emanating from a residence or building to name a few.

June 28, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary that occurred in rural Lexington.   On 06-26-04, the victim advised that their home had been forcibly entered while they were on vacation. Approximately $900 of personal property had been removed from the residence. A suspect has been developed through investigation. Any person that provides information about this crime may be eligible for a cash reward.

June 20, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating several vandalism's that have occurred to local vehicles including the placement of screws into and/or the cutting of tires on vehicles. A suspect has developed and any person that may have witnessed or has information may be eligible for a cash reward.

June 8, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred the night of June 8th, 2004. Person(s) unknown entered an upstairs apartment in the 700 block of Meridian Street and took several items including a DVD player. Approximate value of items taken is $300.00 dollars.

June 7, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft of an animal that occurred sometime on 04-13-04 between 12:00pm and 4:00pm. The animal was taken from the 200 block of west 16th street and described as a tan and black pug wearing a tan halter. A suspect has developed and persons with information may be eligible for a cash reward.

May 31, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that occurred sometime on 04-24-04 after 12:00am at the Triple "S" Trucking Company near Lexington. On that date, person or persons unknown removed four Cragger rims with tires from a 1967 El Camino parked at that location. The suspect(s) left behind a red "MVP" Prolift floor jack. The value of the missing property is $1,334.00.

May 26, 2004 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred sometime on May 15, 2004 after 8 p.m. at McDonald's. On that date, person or persons unknown removed a statue of "Ronald McDonald" and the bench that he was bolted to. The statue was life size and of considerable weight. On May 23, 2004, the statue was recovered in rural Cozad, however witnesses are needed to solve this case.

May 17, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating vandalism to a sign located in the 1200 block of East 11th Street. On or about 04-09-04 person or persons unknown destroyed a sign located at the "East Villa" apartments. The value of the sign is approximately $550. The Cozad Police Department is looking for persons that may have any information about this crime.

May 10, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft from motor a vehicle that occurred in the Darr area. On or about 03-27-04 person or persons unknown removed two Sony Explode speakers and two amplifiers valued at $450. The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is looking for persons that may know information about this crime.

May 3, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft of a trailer that occurred in rural Dawson County.  Sometime within between 04-01-04 and 05-01 -04 person or persons unknown removed a brown 1980 Hale Stock Trailer valued at $600 from a field 2 miles west and 10 miles north of Cozad.

April 26, 2004 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred at a school located in the 1500 block of Avenue I. Sometime around 5:00 pm on 04-11-04, person or persons unknown threw a bottle at the school, damaging a window on the East Side of the building and the front entrance. The Gothenburg Police Department is looking for witnesses that may have any information.

April 19, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Country Grounds Coffeehouse located in the 800 block of Meridian Avenue. Sometime in the morning hours of 04-15-04, a person unknown forcibly gained entry to that business and attempted to rob a subject at knifepoint. The Cozad Police Department is looking for witnesses that may have any information.

April 12, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of stereo equipment from a motor vehicle while parked at a residence located in the rural Cozad area. Sometime between 03-28-04 and 04-02-04, person or persons unknown removed a Roadmaster VRC amplifier, two blue and silver 600 Watt amplifiers, and two Sony Explode speakers valued at $450 from a 1965 Pontiac Tempest.

April 7, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred the night of March 23rd 2004. Suspects took large amounts of pipe, stainless steel, tractor weights, and some old leaf springs from a trailer at Zook's Welding. Estimated value of loss is $6,850.00.

March 29, 2004 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating the theft of property from the back yard of 604 West Elm Street. Sometime during the night hours of 03-19 -04 and 03-20-04 person or persons unknown removed a Magna Force portable generator serial number 3024486 and 100 foot extension cord from the property. The generator is valued at $850 and has the muffler broken off.

March 22, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating several thefts from motor vehicles that occurred on 03-14-04. Sometime during the evening hours of that date person or persons unknown entered three motor vehicles located on East 16th, East 7th, and East 13th Streets and removed CD's, stereos, binoculars, and cash.

March 15, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a criminal mischief that occurred on 11-15-03 on Road 425 and north of Road 770. Sometime between on that date at approximately 9:30 p.m., person or persons unknown shot at a fiber optics box causing approximately $30,000 worth of damage. The Dawson County Crime Stoppers currently has $250 worth of uncollected cash rewards.

March 8, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the theft of a motor vehicle. Sometime between 02-28-04 at 11:30pm and 02-29-04 at 1:00am, person or persons unknown gained access to a 1994 blue Ford Probe bearing NE license plate 18G217 that was parked behind a business located at 707 Meridian Avenue. The vehicle was recovered at the Cozad Cemetery on 03-01-04 out of gasoline and stuck in the mud.

March 1, 2004 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating numerous burglaries to Rick's Audio located at 1110 North Adams. Person or persons unknown gained access to the business by negotiating the front glass door. Once inside the subject or subjects removed numerous pieces of stereo equipment. The value of stolen items on the February 8th burglary exceeded $1,200.00.

February 23, 2004 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating vandalism to a green 1993 Ford Ranger Pick-up while parked in the Gothenburg Community Building Parking Lot. Person or persons unknown caused damage to the front bumper as well as scratching the paint on the hood and right front fender causing approximately $2000 in damage.

February 16, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft of personal property from a residence located in the 900 block of "L" Street. Sometime between 01 -04-04 and 02-04-04, person or persons removed several silver dollars and quarters from the 1800-1920's era. A $2 bill and a pearl necklace valued at $350 were also taken. The total value of items removed is approximately $450.

February 9, 2004 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a theft of a 1990 blue Ford F-150 4x4 pickup in the 1100 block of North Pierce Street. Sometime after 10:00 a.m. 2-01-04, person or persons gained access to the vehicle and later returned it to a local convenience store located in Lexington where it was recovered. Toolboxes were removed from the vehicle prior to recovery.

February 1, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating vandalism at the Platte Valley Auto lot located in the 100 block of Johansen Street. Sometime during the night hours of 12-06-03, person or persons threw an alcoholic beverage bottle at the business damaging a large double pane window. The value of the window is valued at $800.00.

January 26, 2004 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft of a trailer. Sometime after 5:00 pm on 11-13-03, person or persons removed the trailer located on the 800 block of East Highway 30. The trailer plate is 18X1859 and the trailer is red in color with a Sunlight brand pop up trailer on it. The value of the trailer is $3000.00.

January 19, 2004 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a burglary to a residence. Sometime during the day of 01-13-04, person or persons entered the residence located at 820 "I" Avenue. Once inside, the person or persons removed an undisclosed amount of cash and coin currency.

January 12, 2004 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating vandalism to a vehicle that occurred on the night of December 29, 2003 while parked on Scott Lane in Lexington. The person or persons damaged the driver's side window, windshield, and tires on the right side of the vehicle. The approximate damage sustained to the vehicle is $425.00 dollars.

January 5, 2004 -The Cozad Police Department is investigating vandalism to a vehicle that occurred the night of December 24th in the 200 Block of East 7th Street. Suspects threw a concrete block at a vehicle and damaged the windshield. Approximate damage is $500.00 dollars.
