December 25, 2000 - Gothenburg Police Department is investigating burglaries occurring at 915 Lake Avenue at Ben Franklin Store on two different occasions in December. In one incident someone tried to break the lock on the back door of the business. In the second incident a screen door in the back of the building had been pried open. No entry was gained.
December 18, 2000 - Gothenburg Police Department is investigating burglaries occurring at the Pony Express Station. On two different days, December 16th and 17th it was reported that someone attempted to gain entry from a southeast window as it was broken and the wires had been cut and lifted.
December 11, 2000 - Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft which occurred between November 22nd and 23rd in rural Cozad. Someone took two red/black Coleman generators. One is a 10 hsp 5,000 watt generator. The other was a 14-18 hsp 12,000 to 14,000 watt generator.
December 4, 2000 - Cozad Police Department is investigating a burglary at Dairy Queen and Subway which occurred in the early hours of December 4, 2000. Entry was gained into both businesses with cash taken and damage done to windows and doors.

November 27 - Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft which occurred on October 3rd at Justa Trucking Company. Someone broke into two trucks taking two CB radio's, two color TV's, one refrigerator, one radar detector, and one police scanner. Subject caused a large amount of damage to both trucks. Estimated loss $3000.
November 20 - Dawson County Crime Stoppers is seeking information on drug or gang related activity in your area. If you know of someone that is dealing or using drugs or that is involved in illegal gang activity, we don't need your name just your information.
November 13 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a burglary that occured on October 31st in the 1200 block of H St. Some one gained entry into a residence and caused damage to the door. No property was taken.

October 23 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft that occured on October 14th in the 200 block of East 11th Street. Someone broke into a shed located behind a residence. Stolen were numerous tools, and hunting and fishing gear. Estimated value of the loss is $1200.00.
October 16 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a vandalism in the area of Roads 414 and 768 between October 9th and 10th. Someone had attempted to steal a gray 88 Peterbilt semi pulling a hopper trailer loaded with corn and put it in the ditch causing over $1000 damage.
October 3, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred in the alley next to Gordies Cut and Cover. Sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. on September 18th someone stole 2 cloth covered chairs that were set outside. Loss is estimated at $1500.

September 25, 2000 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred at COOP Car Wash during the early hours of September 25th. Someone attempted to break into the change machine. Entry was not gained however the change machine was destroyed. Estimated loss $3000.
September 18, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred on the corner of 8th and E Streets. Sometime between July 29th and August 29th, someone damaged a sign and flag pole lights.
September 11, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft from a vehicle at the parking lot at Circle S Motel. A tire was taken off the car and a spare, donut type tire was left on the ground nearby the vihicle, also taken was a bracket arm. Total estimated loss $325.
September 4, 2000 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary at H & H Auto Salvage which occurred September 2nd or 3rd. Someone gained entry by prying the northwest door open with a pry bar. Once inside they tore open a safe and took $2000 in cash, and stole a .22 caliber Darringer pistol with pearl handle.

August 28, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred May 22nd. Someone stole a Maytag washer and dryer and a G.E. Stove which was setting outside the residenc in the 400 block of East 4th Street. All appliances were approximately 2 years old.
August 21, 2000 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating several burglaries that occurred on August 19th. Hicken Lumber, Holdrege Irrigation, Gothenburg Irrigation, and the Baptist and Catholic Churches were burglarized. Over $1,000 and a large, but still undetermined amount of tools were taken.
August 14, 20000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred at Candy Cane Park. Sometime between April 28th and May 1st, someone pried the hasp off oa storage shed in the park. Damage is estimated at $30.00.
August 7, 2000 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at Timeless Treasures. In the early morning hours of June 14th, the back door and screen door of the business were discovered standing open. Pry marks were observed on the door.

July 31, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred between April 18th and April 20th. A rear window of a converted school bus was shot out with possibly a pellet gun. Estimated damage $120.
July 24, 2000 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a vandalism that occurred at the Overton Cemetary. On July 7th, someone used a vehicle to run over the middle gate, breaking the right gate post off at the base. Both gates were damaged beyond repair. Damage is estimated at $750.
July 17, 2000 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a suspicious person. On July 5th, a subject was observed trying to open the front door of several residences. Subject is a white male, mid to late 20's, shoulder length light brown hair. Was last seen wearing a black hat, black shirt with hard rock cafe logo or similar design, and blue jeans.
July 10, 2000 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that was discovered on June 30th. Someone removed the panels of a wood fence, cut the refrigerant and electrical lines, and took a central air conditioner from the District 7 School. Value is unknown at this time.

June 26, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred on the night of March 3rd. Between 11p.m. and midnight, someone slashed two tires on a vehicle parked behind the Cozad Elks Club. Estimated value is $100.00.
June 19, 2000 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred on the night of June 13th. Someone entered a business through a drive up window and took cash and cigarettes. Value of loss is unknown at this time.
June 12, 2000 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred between May 29th & June 1st. Someone entered an apartment and took 2 pioneer speakers, a size 7 stetson hat, a pair of tan osterich skin boots, size 8, and 25 CDs. Estimated value is $2000.00.
June 6, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred on May 22nd. A washer, dryer and stove sitting in front of a garage were stolen. The washer has a gray streak on it and the stove has a dented burner. All three appliances are 2 years old. Estimated value is $450.00.

May 31, 2000 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a vandalism that occurred on the night of May 24th. Persons unknown placed gang graffiti on the rest rooms, picnic awning, and tennis courts.
May 24, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary. An attempt was made to enter the Cozad Child Care Building between April 26th and April 27th. Pry marks were found on the north door located on the west side of the building.
May 16, 2000 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Department is investigating a burglary that occurred in rural Lexington between April 22nd & April 29th. Entry was gained through a garage door and a John Deere chain saw, Coleman generator and a Skill saw were taken. Value is approximately $1800.00.
May 9, 2000 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at the American Lutheran Church after working hours on April 25th. Subject(s) took a safe containing an undetermined amount of money and files.
May 2, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism at the Westside Apartmens that occurred sometime between January 22nd and January 24th. Subject(s) shattered the glass of a patio door causing approximately $300 in damage.

April 25, 2000 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a vandalism. During the night hours of April 7th, approximately 10 vehicles were vandalized by having the tires cut. The vehicles were located all over the city.
April 18, 2000 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a weapons violation. A male subject shot the tire of a vehicle in the area of Prospect & Hwy 283. Suspect vehicle was in a 1978 or 1979 Black Trans Am, with tinted windows. Suspect is a white male in his forties with a beard and long dark hair with shades of gray in hair and beard.
April 11, 2000 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft which occurred southwest of Overton, Nebraska on April 4th. Subjects entered private property and took several pieces of irrigation supplies. Total amount of items valued at $4,038.97.
April 5, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism at the Cozad Central Elementary School that occurred between March 3rd and March 5th. Someone threw a rock through a window causing approximately $50.00 in damage.

March 27, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a residential burglary. Someone entered a residence on West 10th Street and removed a Honer 12-string guitar with a black case, and a Starter jacket. Estimated value of stolen items $342.00.
March 20, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a theft at the Cozad Airport between Jan. 14, 7:00 p.m. and Jan. 15, 8:00 a.m. Unknown person(s) removed lights from the end of the runway. Lights are red and green and are on a yellow pole.
March 15, 2000 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating the burglary of the American Lutheran Church that occurred between February 3rd and 4th. Person or persons responsible caused damage to the church and took an undisclosed amount of cash.
March 8, 2000 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a burglary. A retail store located at 509 North Washington Street was broken into sometime between the evening hours of February 24th and early morning of February 25th where an estimated $50,000 worth of jewelry was taken.

February 28, 2000 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of road signs. In the past two years approximately thirty-six Road 420 signs have been taken. Signs cost around $35 each. Estimated loss $1300 for these ``420" signs. The tax payers are paying for these signs.
Also: The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating the vandalism to a pickup that was parked on 11th Street. Subject(s) scratched the vehicle sometime during the night of July 18, 1999. Damages are estimated at $1,000.
February 14, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a residential burglary which occurred on east 6th Street between October 1999 and February 2000. Someone entered the residence and stole a quilt valued at $600. Also a large amount of cash was taken from a locked cabinet.
February 7, 2000 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating the theft and vandalism of a Red 1986 Sunbird that was stolen on Feb. 1st from Lexington. Vehicle was later located north of Lexington with extensive damage.
February 2, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating several vandalism incidents between December 20th and January 3rd. Someone is spray painting with gold paint on garages, buildings and trailers. On two of the buildings the words ``RAVEN 107" was spray painted on them.

January 24, 2000 - The Gothenburg Police Department is investigating a burglary occurring evening hours of January 24th or early morning hours of the 25th. Someone broke into the office at Cennex Land O Lakes and tore it apart. Taken was an undetermined amount of cash, and possibly other items from the shop area.
January 17, 2000 - The Dawson County Sheriff's office is investigating a burglary that occurred on October 19th to the Earth Science Labs in Overton, Nebraska. Subject(s) broke into the business taking several computer components, a lap top computer, a scanner-printer, digital camera and various power tools.
January 10, 2000 - The Dawson County Sheriff's office is investigating a burglary one mile east and two miles north of Lexington, between December 1st and December 2nd. Someone broke into a shop and stole a large amount of shop tools, a Toro Snowblower and other miscellaneous itmes. Estimated loss = $7,000.
January 3, 2000 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating a vandalism which occurred at the Cozad Cemetary between late December 28th and early December 29th. Several headstones were damaged. A statue from the cemetary was thrown at Berryman Funeral Home and broken. $3,000 damage estimated.
