Year 2010 Weekly Crime Stoppers Information:
February 1, 2010 - The Gosper County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the theft of cattle panels and square hay bales from a pasture that ran along Highway 23, west of Elwood. Sometime around 12/25/2009, person(s) unknown removed around 60 square bales and between 23 and 30 cattle panels. Some of the panels were painted one side, and others were not. The loss of the theft is valued around $2,800.00 making this crime a felony. If you have any information, call the hotline, or submit your web tip for cash.
Year 2009 Weekly Crime Stoppers Information:
October 19, 2009 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a string of crimes beginning with Road 760 from Highway 21 to Road 435. Sometime during the early morning hours of October 6th, 2009, person(s) unknown damaged several vehicles, damaged a business, and stole a car. The vehicle was recovered, however extensively damaged. Also taken were tools and three rechargeable batteries. Anyone with any information regarding this or any other case is encouraged to leave a tip. Crime stoppers will pay a cash reward resulting in the arrest of whoever is responsible for this case.
October 4, 2009 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating damage to a boat that occurred sometime between 10:00pm on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 and 8:30am on the 4th. Damage to the Galaxy Tri-Hull inboard/outboard boat was done to inboard motor, which was in excess of an estimated $1,500. Information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible for this felony case will receive a cash reward.

August 31, 2009 - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred on South Harrison Street on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009. During the early morning hours, person(s) unknown gained entry to a garage/shop and removed numerous masonry tools and construction equipment. Call or submit your tip today to receive a cash reward on this felony offense.
August 17, 2009 - The Cozad Police Department is currently investigating a burglary that occurred at the 100th Meridian Bowling alley. Sometime during the nighttime hours of Sunday, July 26th, or the early morning hours of Monday, July 27th, 2009, person(s) unknown damaged the front door of the building. Once inside, the suspect(s) unknown removed several bottles of alcohol. The damage sustained was in excess of $900 on this felony case. Submit your tip today to receive a good cash reward.
June 15, 2009 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a burglary complaint that was fielded at Nebraska Truck and Equipment located in Lexington. Sometime possibly during the night hours of Monday, May 18th or the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 19th, 2009, person(s) unknown entered into the business and removed personal property located inside. Law enforcement seeks anonymous citizens to come forward with any information they may have to help solve this case. Remember, your anonymous tip could get you a CASH reward!
June 1, 2009 - The Cozad Police Department is currently investigating several home invasions that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 21st, 2009. The suspects targeted homes in the northwest corner of town and entered into several. The Cozad Police Department is encouraging anyone with information to provide it to police, or anonymously through crime stoppers. The Dawson County Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of the people responsible.
May 18, 2009 - The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is investigating damage that was sustained to a rural Cozad cabin near the river. Sometime prior to Saturday, May 16th, 2009 person(s) unknown approached the rural cabin and damaged a window located on the east side of the cabin. It did not appear that perpetrator(s) entered, however damage to the property was done. April 6, 2009 - The Gothenburg Police Department is currently investigating a residential burglary. Sometime between 9:00pm and 9:45pm on March 12th, 2009, person(s) unknown gained entry to a home possibly by compromising a window. Once inside, the suspect(s) removed between $2,000 and $3,000 worth of jewelry including a watch, necklaces, and earrings. Any information that results in an arrest of whoever is responsible will receive a cash reward.
February 23, 2009 - The Cozad Police Department is investigating the theft of an electric motor scooter. The scooter was recovered from a drainage ditch and is believed to have been stolen. The police department is seeking the public's help in locating the owner. If you have any information on this or any other crime, call the crime stoppers hotline or submit a web tip.

On Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 at approximately 8:30pm, the Dawson County Sheriff`s Office was notified that Rodney Marshall of rural Lexington was found deceased in his home. Once on scene they determined that Mr. Marshall`s death was possibly a homicide and proceeded as such. An autopsy was conducted and the manner of death was consistent with a homicide. The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is currently appealing to the public for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Rodney Marshall. Crime Stoppers and anonymous donors are offering a reward of up to $6,000. January 5, 2009 - The Gothenburg Police Department is currently investigating theft and criminal mischief in the 1700 block of "F" Street. Sometime between the hours of 9:00pm on 12-22-08 and 8:00am on 12-23-08, person(s) unknown stole two flags from a flagpole at the above location. During the theft three spotlight fixtures and bulbs used to illuminate the flags were destroyed. The first flag is a 3'X5' American flag and the second is a 3'X5' POW-MIA flag, black and red in color.
