WHAT IS SEXUAL ASSAULT?

Sexual assault is any type of sexual activity that you do not agree to.  This can

include touching, penetration, or being forced to do sexual acts.  It can be

perpetrated by a stranger or by someone you know.  Sexual assault is an act of

power and control over another person.  No one “asks” to be sexually assaulted. 

The decision to commit a sexual assault is made in the mind of the perpetrator—not

the victim.

If you are a victim please know that it isn’t your fault and that help is available to

you.  You are not alone.  Talking about it may be the first step to recovery and
