July 2006 - Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training Offered
(Lexington, NE, July 17, 2006)—Brian Woldt, Dawson County Emergency Management Director announces the first training of volunteer Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, to take place in August, 2006 at the Tri County Hospital Wellness Center.

December 2002 - Weather radio hits the air

July 2002 - With the recent flooding in Keith County the Dawson County Emergency Management has been watching the river for flooding. With the drought conditions that exist in the area the water in the river stayed in it's banks.

March 1, 2001 - Dawson County Commissioners appoint
Brian Woldt as director of Emergency Management. Brian has been a longtime resident of Dawson County and was the Emergency Manager for Cozad.

The National Weather Service Weather Transmitter is getting closer to becoming a reality. Central Nebraska Irrigation and Public Power District (CNIPPD) and the NWS have ironed out agreements for use of the tower site and building. The transmitter is here and ready to go.

The NWS is in the process of getting the dedicated phone line installed. The project seems to hit bumps down the road.
